We prioritize aligning intended parents with surrogates based on their specific needs and preferences, rather than simply matching with available candidates. You will always be updated about new surrogates joining our program and have access to their profiles.
What is your process for screening surrogates?
Our initial interaction with a potential surrogate involves a phone interview. If she meets the necessary criteria, she proceeds to complete an extensive application, and multiple interviews with our staff, which allow us to assess her motivation and suitability for our program. We review her medical records from previous pregnancies and share these records with your IVF physician. We perform city, county, and statewide criminal background checks on the surrogate candidate and her spouse. Oregon Surrogacy Center adheres to the guidelines set by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine for psychological testing and screening. Not only does the surrogate undergo psychological testing, but she and her spouse are also interviewed thoroughly by one of our licensed mental health professionals. Finally, your IVF physician will screen both the surrogate and her spouse/partner for infectious diseases and evaluate the surrogate’s ability to conceive and carry a pregnancy.
How does Oregon Surrogacy Center manage financial matters?
All costs related to the surrogate mother are held in a trust account. Any payment requests are reviewed by the agency to ensure they align with your contract. If a request falls outside the scope of the contract, the agency will contact you for approval before proceeding.
